introduce

The full name of FCC certification in the United States is the Federal Communications Commission, which was established by communications in 1934. It is an independent agency of the United States government and is directly responsible to Congress. FCC coordinates domestic and international communications by controlling radio, television, telecommunications, satellites and cables. It involves more than 50 states in the United States, Colombia and regions in the United States to ensure the safety of radio and wire communication products related to life and property.

FCC certification mode:

On November 2, 2017, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) officially announced that in order to simplify the certification process of wireless devices and clarify the specifications for the use of electronic labels, the doc & VOC plan was officially changed to SDoC.

From November 2, 2017 to November 2, 2018, this year is the transitional operation period. During this transitional period, you can continue to use FCC VOC and DOC certification procedures or use the new FCC SDoC certification procedures. After a one-year transition period, the FCC SDoC certification program will officially replace the original FCC VOC and DOC certification methods.

FCC certification category

FCC certification self verification

The manufacturer or importer shall ensure that its products have been tested as necessary to confirm that the products comply with relevant technical standards and retain the inspection

FCC certifies the test report, and FCC has the right to require the manufacturer to submit the test data of equipment samples or products. Devices suitable for self verification include commercial computers, TV and FM receivers, and industrial, scientific and medical devices used by non mass consumers of FCC rule Part 18.

FCC certification compliance statement

The party in charge of the equipment (usually the manufacturer or importer) tests the products in a qualified testing institution designated by the FCC to ensure that the equipment meets the relevant technical standards and retains the test report. The FCC has the right to require the party in charge to submit the samples of the equipment or the test data of the products. The equipment applicable to the declaration of conformity includes home computers and peripherals, civil broadcast receivers, super regenerative receivers, other receivers of FCC rulepart 15, TV interface equipment, cable system terminal equipment and industrial scientific research and medical equipment used by mass consumers of Part 18.

FCC certification ID certification

FCC will review the samples (or photos) and test data submitted by the applicant. If they meet the requirements of FCC rules, an FCC ID number will be authorized to the equipment. Equipment suitable for certification include low-power transmitters such as cordless phones, remote controls for automatic doors, radio controlled toys and safety alarm systems, Part 15 equipment that deliberately transmits radio frequency energy, Part 18 industrial, scientific research and medical equipment used by mass consumers, automatic frequency conversion receivers and ultra regenerative receivers, television interface equipment, and home computers and their peripherals. The responsible party shall make the equipment marked with FCC ID:

Note: if a certain equipment is applicable to two or three approved types, it shall be selected by the responsible party.

FCC ID application process:

1. Apply for a FRN first. If the applicant applies for FCC ID for the first time, it needs to apply for a permanent grant code; Apply for ID for the first time, and the fee for applying for grantee code is 60usd
