  1. detailed information

NOM certification

NOM (normas oficiales Mexico) sign is a mandatory safety sign in Mexico to indicate that the product conforms to relevant NOM standards. NOM logo is applicable to most products, including telecommunications and information technology equipment, household electrical appliances, lamps and other products with potential risks to health and safety. Products, whether made locally or imported in Mexico, must comply with relevant NOM standards and product labeling regulations.

According to Mexican law, the licensee of NOM must be a Mexican company responsible for the quality, maintenance and reliability of products. The test report is issued by a laboratory recognized by secofi and reviewed by secofi, ACE or Nyce. If the product meets the requirements of relevant regulations, a certificate will be issued to the Mexican representative of the manufacturer or exporter, and the product can be marked with NOM.

Difference between NOM mark and nmx mark

First: different procedures are required

NOM (normas oficiales Mexico) sign is a mandatory safety sign in Mexico to indicate that the product conforms to relevant NOM standards. The nmx (normas Mexico) standard is voluntary.

Second: the corresponding products are different

NOM logo is applicable to most products, including telecommunications and information technology equipment, household electrical appliances, lamps and other products with potential risks to health and safety. Products, whether made locally or imported in Mexico, must comply with relevant NOM standards and product labeling regulations. Nmx is generally applicable to parts, such as conductors, fuses, circuit breakers, lamp holders and ballasts, for manufacturers' reference; However, when an nmx requirement becomes a reference provision of NOM standard, the nmx requirement becomes a mandatory standard.
