ETL certification is the abbreviation of ETL Testing Laboratories Inc. founded by Thomas Edison in 1896, it is an NRTL (National recognized laboratory) recognized by OSHA (Federal occupational safety and Health Administration). After more than 100 years, ETL logo has been widely recognized and accepted by major retailers in North America, and enjoys a high reputation as UL certification. ETL inspection mark any electrical, mechanical or electromechanical product with ETL inspection mark indicates that it has been tested and conforms to relevant industry standards.

Electronic, electrical, mechanical or electromechanical products

Any electrical, mechanical or electromechanical product with ETL mark indicates that the product has met the minimum requirements of the generally recognized product safety standards of the United States and Canada. It has passed the ETL certification test and conforms to the relevant product safety standards. ETL certification also requires that its production site has been inspected, and the applicant agrees to conduct regular follow-up inspection of its factory thereafter to ensure that the products always meet this requirement.

Provision of ETL certification materials

At present, there are two ways to obtain ETL certificate, one is to transfer through CB test report, and the other is to directly apply for ETL certificate. The required documents are as follows:

1. ETL certification application form

2. Copy of CB test certificate (not required for direct application for ETL certification)

3. Copy of CB test report (not required for direct application for ETL certification)

4. ETL certification test samples (4-8)

5. Other relevant test results and product data, such as product description, photos, component list, product performance and specifications, circuit schematic diagram, etc. (if it is transferred through CB report, difference test is required)

Factory inspection

Factory inspection is required before ETL certification is issued, and then irregular follow-up factory inspection will be carried out every quarter. In addition to factory inspection fees, certificate and license fees need to be paid quarterly.
