PSE certification is a mandatory safety certification in Japan to prove that motor and electronic products have passed the safety standard test of Japanese electrical and raw material safety law (denanlaw) or international IEC standards. At present, 3C certification in China, FCC certification in the United States and CE certification in the European Union are common compulsory certification in electronic and electrical appliances certification. Japan's dentorl law (electrical equipment and material control law) stipulates that 498 products entering the Japanese market must pass safety certification. Among them, 165 category a products should obtain the diamond shaped PSE mark, and 333 category B products should obtain the circular PSE mark.

Since April 1st, 2001, "electrical product control law (dentorl)" has been officially renamed "electrical product safety law (Denan)". Different from the previous regulatory system, the new system will be controlled by unofficial institutions to ensure the safety of products.

Wires, wiring appliances, current limiters, transformers, stabilizers, electric heating appliances, electrical power application machinery, AC electrical machinery, portable generators, other AC machinery, wire tubes, small AC motors, light sources and light source application machinery, batteries, etc., which belong to the product scope specified in the safety law of specific electrical supplies, such as DC power supply devices, switches and sockets, electric water heaters 116 products such as power cords and plugs, transformers for other household appliances (AC-AC power products).

Products that fall outside the safety law of specific electrical supplies include 341 products, such as electric blanket, electric steamer, electric perm, electric oven, microwave oven, hair humidifier, refrigerator, electric mixer, electric egg cooker, electric heat preservation basin, hair dryer, electric humidifier, projector, washing machine, white heat bulb, fluorescent lamp, desk lamp, decorative lamp, advertising lamp, lithium battery, all LED bulbs and LED lamps.

3. Provide samples for testing: according to the application standards and certification bodies, 5pcs samples are usually provided when there is CB, and 10pcs samples are provided when there is no CB.

PSE certification cycle

Depending on the application standard and the certification authority, it usually takes 4-6 weeks with CB and about 6-10 weeks without CB. (information is complete and samples do not need to be rectified)

Validity of PSE certificate

Diamond PSE certificate: 3 years, 5 years, 7 years (depending on the product)

Circular PSE certificate: usually the factory declares itself or the third-party laboratory / certification agency issues the test report
